What the heck is Sheepless Yarns?
Hello everyone!
I hope today finds you well? Here in Shawnigan Lake BC it's a dull, drizzly autumn day. Make no mistake, I'm not complaining! We desperately need the rain.
Let me tell you this, starting a business the month before Covid-19 lockdowns was NOT our brightest idea. Yet, here we are almost two and a half years later, still plugging along. However, it's all worth it if we can help one person find a yarn that doesn't make them itch, break out in hives, or have an asthma attack. Hello, I'm Elizabeth, and I'm a crafter who's allergic to sheep's wool and lanolin. My husband started Sheepless Yarns to help people like me who 1. CAN'T use sheep's wool, 2. or choose to NOT use sheep's wool.
The yarns we DO carry are mostly vegetable in nature: cotton, linen, bamboo, hemp, silk, sugar cane, and their blends. We're also looking to bring in a new supplier (see our PRE-ORDER page) and some new-to-us fibres! We're looking at linen, jute, ramie, Tussah Tweed (YUMMY!), tencel, and an organic cotton DK suitable for amigurumi!
So, that's who we are. Thank you for taking the time to check out our website and read this blog post.
